The New Balance Fresh Foam X Hierro v9 is a fully redesigned, max-cushioned trail shoe built to make long days on unpredictable ground feel considerably easier.
Its substantial Fresh Foam X midsole uses two different densities of foam. A softer upper layer delivers the comfort expected from the Hierro, while a firmer lower layer adds stability and keeps the ride controlled. The broad platform cradles the foot, creating a protected and surprisingly stable experience despite the generous stack height.
Underneath, Vibram Megagrip rubber and Traction Lug technology provide dependable traction across wet and dry terrain. The deeper 6 mm lugs represent a serious step up from the previous version, giving the Hierro v9 the grip to move beyond groomed paths and onto more demanding trails.
A breathable mesh upper is reinforced with printed overlays, while Toe Protect adds protection against rocks, roots and other trail debris. The gusseted tongue helps keep the foot secure and prevents dirt from working its way inside.
