DESCRIPTION
Plush Comfort Meets Lightweight Power
Designed as a versatile daily trainer, the Ventus aims to fill the gap between the highly cushioned Eleos and the firmer Flame RS. With a PEBA-infused midsole and a durable outsole, the Ventus is built for a range of paces and distances.
The upper of the 361 Ventus utilizes a TPU yarn-woven material that balances breathability, durability, and comfort. A small concern I have for the desert summer is the thicker material…I worry my feet may overheat during the hottest months.
The best running shoe uppers disappear on your feet, and I haven’t had any issues with the Ventus. While many 361 shoes fit a little wider than average, I’ve found the Ventus to fit true to size. In running shoes, I wear between a women’s size 10-11 wide, and I’ve found the size 11 to fit best (which is my usual 361 size).
Overall, I’ve been happy with the fit. If you are new to 361, your usual running shoe size should work fine. There is nothing extraordinary about the upper, but that’s honestly what I like in a running shoe. Something that fits well and feels good.
Best For
-
Runners seeking a max-cushion daily trainer for comfort-focused mileage
-
Athletes who want lightweight responsiveness with long-run protection
-
Neutral runners needing plush shock absorption and versatile performance
Design and Materials
- Upper: Breathable engineered mesh for ventilation, with minimal overlays to reduce weight and irritation. It includes a padded tongue and collar for a secure, sock-like fit. Some versions have a seamless construction to prevent blisters.
- Midsole: Features 361°'s proprietary QU!KFOAM technology, a blend of EVA foam and rubber for responsive cushioning. It's bouncy yet firm, absorbing impact without feeling mushy. No carbon plate here—it's not a "super shoe" like Nike's Vaporfly, but it provides decent energy return for tempo runs.
- Outsole: Durable rubber with a multi-directional tread pattern for grip on roads and light trails. It's flexible in the forefoot for natural toe-off, and the rubber holds up well (expect 300-400 miles of use before significant wear).
-
Other Features:
- Internal heel counter for stability.
- Removable insole for custom orthotics.
- Eco-friendly elements in newer models, like recycled materials in the upper.

Performance Breakdown
- Cushioning and Comfort: Excellent for daily training—soft enough for long runs but not overly plush. Runners often praise the "just right" balance that avoids foot fatigue. It's responsive for speedwork but not as explosive as racing shoes.
- Stability and Support: Neutral profile, so it's best for efficient runners. If you overpronate, look at 361°'s stability models like the Strata instead.
- Durability: Solid build quality for the price. The outsole resists wear on pavement, and the upper holds up against sweat and elements.
- Fit and Feel: True to size for most, with a roomy toe box. It feels secure without being constrictive, though some users note it can run slightly narrow in the midfoot.
