KUDOS TO THE CAUSE

Running with purpose. Powered by community. Fuelled by coffee.

Let’s face it. Cape Town’s running community is full of legends. The kind who wake up before sunrise, lace up, and chase that feeling.

But what if all that energy, all that rhythm, could ripple even further - into something that gives back while we move forward?

Born from a killer collab between RUN and our caffeine junkies at JARRYDS Eatery, this monthly initiative is how we give back, one 5K at a time.

🌟 HOW IT WORKS & WHY IT MATTERS 🌟

On the last Thursday of every month, we lace up and line up outside JARRYDS Eatery in Sea Point, not just to clock a 5km with the crew - but to create real impact. No timing. No pressure. Just good people, moving with purpose. For every runner that shows up, JARRYDS donates R50 to our NGO we’re working with. No sign-up fee. After the run? We hang out over coffee, connect with the community, and soak up the good vibes.

And if you think we’d stop there, you don’t know us very well.

RUN dropped some proper Kudos To The Cause tees - because we wanted to do more than just run for change, we wanted to wear it too. No fluff. No markup. We covered all the production costs so that every cent you spend on a tee goes directly to the cause. They’re simple, bold, and made to mean something. You can grab one online, RUN Bree Street or at any of the runs, throw it on, and know you're part of something that matters.

🌟 ONE CAUSE. THREE MONTHS. COUNTLESS IMPACT. 🌟

We’re not about quick fixes. Each cause gets three full months of love and attention. That means three runs, three opportunities to show up, to get involved, and to make a difference together.

And when we close out each series? We go all out with a random prize giveaway for the legends who make it to all three runs. If you’ve been there every step of the way, you might just score some serious gear (because you earned it).

🐾 JAN–MAR: TEARS ANIMAL RESCUE 🐾

Our first series kicked off with TEARS Animal Rescue, a local NGO doing big work for the little guys. From rescuing and rehabilitating animals, to finding them safe, loving homes, TEARS has been showing up for voiceless creatures for years.

With the help of every single runner who joined in, every shirt that was bought, and every coffee that was sipped post-run, we raised funds to back their mission and grow their impact. YOU made it possible. YOU did that. THANK YOU.

❤️ April - june: LADLES OF LOVE ❤️

From April to June, our Kudos to the Cause runs supported Ladles of Love - and wow, you showed up. Every runner who laced up and joined our monthly social runs helped put food on tables across Cape Town, with Jarryds donating for every runner and proceeds from our RUN shirts going straight to the cause.
It wasn’t just about running - it was about running for something. And we couldn’t have done it without you. Whether you came for the vibe, the route, or the post-run coffee, YOU made an impact. Big kudos to you - and big love to Ladles.

🌟 SO, WHAT’S NEXT? 🌟

Next up, we’re teaming up with The CORA Project, a powerful women-led non-profit on a mission to end period poverty in South Africa. CORA supports menstruators from underprivileged communities by providing both essential menstrual products and education - breaking down the stigma and shame that too often surrounds periods.

By joining our runs July - September, you’re not only helping fund CORA’s work, you’re also helping open up conversations, empower young menstruators, and support dignity through access. Got unopened pads or tampons to donate? Bring them along to the run, we’ll make sure they go straight to the communities who need them most.

Not running? No worries.
Buy a shirt, and you’re still making a difference. All proceeds go directly to CORA.

🏃🏽‍♂️ JOIN THE CREW. 🏃🏼‍♀️

We started it because we wanted to do something real. Something small but consistent. Something that gave our running community a way to give back without needing to overthink it.

One run a month. One cause at a time. No frills. Just people showing up, moving their bodies, and doing some good while they’re at it.

NEXT RUN: Thursday 25 September 2025 | 6AM for 06:30 start

This is your sign. Come as you are. Come run for something.
