Description

The TRAILROC trail running range has undergone a complete redesign and is now back with a bang this season, think floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee.  The TRAILROC 285 offers you more protection, more support, more comfort, greater energy return and improved grip. Supreme grip and all-over protection combined with increased heel support, a cushioned midsole and durable upper, deliver the ultimate shoe for training on hard and rocky trails.

Midsole

New Powerflow+ midsole delivers a claimed 10% better shock absorption and 25% better energy return than standard midsoles.

Outsole

The outsole is filled with small studs that cut through any terrain debris and grip firm to the hard trail underneath.

The studs are placed in a pattern that ensures no debris clogs up between them. The many studs also help dispel downward pressure when a runner’s foot lands on the trail.

Upper

The External Heel Counter wraps around the rear of the shoe and provides support in the heel. Delivering this extra hold aids foot stability and helps a fatigued runner maintain a better gait.

Even more support with the new, improved Met-Cradle+ wraps around the midfoot, from the laces to the midsole, ensuring a secure, locked down fit for the foot and extra support for the arch of the foot.

Outrageously good!

I recently switched over to this shoe having previously been in Brooks and New balance shoes that I just didn’t find had enough traction on technical terrain, and what a treat these have been for me! I don’t think I have ever found a shoe that sticks to rocks like this, it gives me great confidence on the downhills. I did have to go half a size up though in comparison to previous shoes from Brooks and NB.
